From Orwell to Whaddon

Walk Location:

Park in the street called Leaden Hill in Orwell. It continues as a farm track, which after a short distance bends round to the left. There's a footpath going straight ahead, but follow the track around the corner and up over the hill.

You're heading in the direction of Whaddon, and if you just follow this path it will take you there. After about half a mile another footpath joins from the left, and if you turn down this you can loop back to the village, making a circular walk, though frankly the path you're on is probably the nicer one!

Assuming, however, you keep going ahead, after about another half mile the footpath crosses a new golf course. Unless your dog is more obedient than mine, you may want to use a lead for this bit! Another option is to skirt around the right side of the golf course where it meets the fields.

Eventually you reach a bridge across the Cam, go through a small wood, and after about another mile or so you'll come to Whaddon, which has a pretty church.
