Clopton Village

Walk Location:

This path, starting a few miles north of Royston, is part of the Clopton Way - named after the former village of Clopton which thrived here until the 16th century. The village is now just a somewhat lumpy field!

The path goes along the edge of a ridge and offers pleasant views over the valley to the south - or what passes for a valley here in East Anglia.

If you're coming north on the A1198, take the turn left for Arrington and Croydon which is just after the Hardwicke Arms. Go through both villages and, after Croydon, you come to a T-junction - there's a small parking area just ahead of you and the path leads off from here.

You can walk out and back along the path, and there are various circular paths which you can take if you're feeling a bit more energetic. (See the links to the left for an example.)
